About me:

I have been obsessed with the human body and how it works since I was a teenager. However, I decided on a direction that seemed more "grown up" at the time and ended up in graduate school after college, earning a Masters in Social Work and a Masters in Public Policy.
Taking a break from my career for a few years to be home with my children gave me the perspective (and the permission!) I needed to begin pursuing my passion.
I became certified as a personal trainer through the National Association of Sports Medicine and also completed certifications in TRX Suspension training and Mat I Pilates.
While these certifications gave me direction, it is my pursuit of the Specialist Certification in Muscle Activation Technique that has provided me with deep knowledge and understanding about how to best help my clients keep their bodies working efficiently and in so doing, continue uninterrupted on their journey towards strength, health and sustainable fitness.
I would be remiss if I did not say something about my emotional approach to training. Let's face it: if our minds aren't in it, our body won't be either. Whether I am cueing a client on form or working with them on the MAT table, I am constantly aware of their state of mind....their state of soul. I am a trainer who recognizes that sometimes we can be our own worst enemy and only by calling that out can we move past it and do the work that is in front of us.
But I'm not finished! I continue to pursuing education in Muscle Activation Technique to keep me on the top of my game. I am a passionate consumer of literature and research on motivation and the ways to inspire and ignite my clients.
I would love to hear from you - to listen to your story and the goals you have for yourself. And I would be honored for the opportunity to work with you to get there.
